Winners at heart.
السلام عليكم
Faces tight with tension, fists clenched and unclenched. The silence was overwhelming, almost as if it was taunting us. Not wanting to miss anything, we did not even blinked. However, despite the nervous atmosphere, we could still feel a surge of confidence, a glimmer of hope.
And. . . .
Singapore lost to CR Flamengo in a penalty shoot out! Our eyes were blank and wandering and jaws were hanging. Perhaps too stunned at Singapore's close chance of winning. It was that close! Still, everything happens for a reason because only Allah SWT knows best.
I strongly believe that Singapore's youth soccer players are certainly talented. They do indeed have the capability, the aptitude and the spirit of fighting & winning for Singapore. To be honest, I am actually exhibiting signs of interest towards Singapore's soccer scene which is quite unbelievable as initially, I could not be bothered about Singapore's soccer matches and stuffs. However, currently, the young batch of Singapore's soccer players are extremely talented and are displaying skills that could positively bring Singapore's soccer scene to greater heights. There is no doubt, a sense and a glimmer of hope for Singapore.
These soccer prodigies have portrayed and demonstrated how anything is not impossible to be achieved- even Singapore, a young, tiny nation could compete with professional leagues from Brazil (Flamengo), Italy (Juventus) and Britain (Everton).
I must say that I am very proud with them even though they did not managed to attain the first position. No matter what, i am ascertain that they are still winners at heart because they really did displayed the values of sportsmanship such as friendship, determinance and perseverance. Even thought two of them did not managed to score the penalty goals, all of them actually patted and still hugged each other despite the outcome. This clearly showed how caring and united they are which exerts the main aim/purpose of sports- to achieve love, friendship and respect for one another instead of just cultivating the spirit of competition and winning(:
P:s: Tomorrow is Israk Mikraj! I'm looking forward to it & hearing the story of Nabi Muhammad S.A.W! Alhamdulillah(:
