All we need is love

This video is beautiful, the way others respond to his hardline, radical extreme views about Muslims and Islam gives me hope about humanity.

May Allah give him hidayah to convert to Islam, we might never know..those people who hate  Islam extremely might be the ones who will love Islam extremely in the future, just like the story of  Saiyyidina Umar Ibn Al Khattab R.A (: Amin.

PRAXIS 2.5

On the 14 December to 16 Deccember saw myself attending another PRAXIS camp, this time being the 2.5th time PRAXIS was being organized. Though I was part of the organizing committee in PRAXIS 2.0 helping to plan out the programmes, I did not managed to help plan PRAXIS 2.5 unfortunately as I was in the midst of exams. Therefore, I was being appointed as the Day In charge/ facilitator for Day 1 which was such a spontaneous thing. Initially, the day I/C was supposed to be Aslam and Shahirah but since Aslam was down with shingles, they replaced him with myself and seriously I had no idea what the whole day programme would be like and stuffs. Lucky for me I was able to adapt quickly and be versatile to accomomdate the changes in the programmes.

Day 1
Day 1 was quite awkward in the beginnning because most of the facilitators were on National Service and others  had school on that day. Hence, they could only make it at night. So, there was only me and Shahirah as I/Cs and Zafirah as our mentor to ensure that things would be carried out smoothly. The praticipants consisted of Al Irsyad students/ graduates and previous PRAXIS 2.5 participants...which summed up to  only 6 participants? It was during the night that the numbers then increased. So what we did in the morning was that we attended a Creative, design thinking organized by Syinc in which we learned  how to execute and make ou ideas come to real life...Well, it was interesting but at the same time brain wrecking as we had to be creative and imaginative to come up with all sorts of imaginative ideas. At night, we played the murderer game which was so funny! hahahah, everyone was suspicious of one another and it was so hectic!

(My room mates and I! Our room was beautiful and awesome @NACLI)

(Murderer Game!)

Day 2
Day 2 consisted of another planned programme by Syninc talking about the various types of prototypes available to excute out ideas and make our ideas tangible/ into the physical form. After several densed hours of saturating my brain, we had our learning journey which was to actually proceed to either the designated areas to interview outsiders regarding our projects and stuffs. So we had to choose to go to either "The Hub by Peter  Yang", "a social entrepreneuship talk about how to be a futurist" or the wildcard. Well, since our project focuses more on plays, theatres to debunk the stereotypes that different Malay stratas had towards one another, my group felt that it wouldn't  make sense/irrelevant to attend the above mentioned places. So we decided to choose the wildcard. Initially, we decided to go to School of Thought to meet Tong Yee since they had conducted a "Forum theatre" before but unfortunately the place was closed upon reaching. So impomptu, we decided to proceed to The Malay Heritage Centre and luckily it was free for students..phew.

(Learning Journey Questions)

We took a look at the Malay artefacts and learnt about Malay feudalism, interviewed a young curator who was surprisingly 16 years old but very mature and professional in his thoughts. After that Liyana (ex Alsagoff) managed to bump into her principal Ustaz Syed Mustafa Alsagoff and so we interviewed him and he is a very intellectual and wise man i must say. Nightfall saw us going for a so called "Night walk" which was not scary at all at Kent Ridge Park...hence I prefer to call it Night stroll but it was ok as we managed to conduct small chats with the participants here and there (:

Day 3 (End of the Day)
Day 3 was the most fun part out of the whole PRAXIS camp. Reason being was because the day started off with a short game of Paintball at Bottle Tree Park. Honestly speaking, I had no idea what paintball was and the fact that my friends kept harping on how painful it will be scared the hell out of me. It is similar to shooting games except that this one was real life and we had our own guns with 'bullets' made out of round small balls with paint on them. When the game began, I swear it was really tiring running and crouching down to avoid getting shot. The gun was also super heavy and obviously I am unfit so what do they expect of me haha. Anyway, I still managed to survive in the battlefield by actually shooting some people and the  greatest achievement was that I MANAGED TO CAPTURE THE FLAG and insert it into my group's hole. Unfortunately, I was attacked by the waave of bullets and had to respawn...ugh. haha still it was a great achievement for me as I managed to defeat the boys in that (:

(Game of PaintBall @ Bottletree Park)

(The Battlefield)

We were to suppose to wait for the bus after the game  but sadly, the bus broke down. So, the village chief of Bottle Tree Park offered to bring us around for  a short 20 minutes tour around the Sustainable living Kampong. Guys, if u were wondering as to whether there is a kampung in Singapore...YES THERE IS. In Bottle Tree Park Khatib and Punggol. You shold seriously go take a look. I would really love to blog about my emotions and a detailed introspection about the whole experience but I think I would not be able to end my post if I were to do so.
** Maybe I would create a separate post for this

(SL Kampung & chief)

After all those, we proceed to another of the brain wrecking sessions on Design Thinking and the concluded with nice photo taking sessions with the PRAXIS family. Home sweet Home (:

8.12.12

Well hello there I am back dear blog

Hello there, dear blog and anyone who bothers reading my blog...I am back for such a long time haha. I really apologize for being so inconsistent in my blog updates, thing is I really have a lot of things to say but then sometimes my state of intertia and laziness seem to have consumed me.

So i am having my university holidays now so I have not been doing anything except for chilling, eating and stuffs. I have yet to start on my planning for what to design for POST 65 committee and to elicit for sponsors for maulid rasulullah s.a.w (:

Anyway just to share some quick updates about what had happened in my life

1) Due to my overwhelming desire of wanting to eat some murtabak, post exams saw myself and a group of friends chilling and eating at zam zam and stuffing ourselves with Tutti Frutti

2) Yesterday saw myself attending a Maulid event organized by Madinah on Wheels with Hanis (:

The event was alhamdulillah beneficial although the place was a bit secluded as it was held in Masjid Petempatan Melayu Sembawang...it was situated somewhere in a place densed with trees and plantations and there were monkeys all around. Surprisingly, it was located near Sembawang beach so it was a little difficult for us to travel there as no buses actually pass through that area except cars.

So, let me share with you what I have learned from yesterday's maulid (:

  • Habib Idrus Alattas: Rasulullah s.a.w is the only person who can give syafaat/intercede for us during hari qiyamah
  • Rasulullah s.a.w was sent as a mercy(Rahmatan lil 'alamin)
Sahih International: And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.(Surah Anbiya' verse 107)

  • He is an intercessor for the whole of mankind and not only for a specific group unlike the other anbiya' (Eg: Nabi Musa A.S for kaum Bani Israel)
  • Rasulullah s.a.w's jasad may be absent in this world but his light and nur still exists..when we participate in maulid, rasulullah s.a.w is with us, he witness what we have done to remember and send blessings/selwat to him
  • When someone adopts rasulullah s.a.w's sunnah, place and fill his heart with rasulullah s.a.w and put Allah infront of him, he will be able to see rasulullah s.a.w real life and not in dreams (Eg: Habib's grandfather (alim, ulama'))
  • Those who made an effort to find the pearls of rasulullah s.a.w by going for majlis that remeber rasulullah s.a.w, inculcate love for him and Allah, all their sins will be forgiven by Allah SWT
  • Maulid rasulullah s.a.w is one way in which we strive to improve our iman and hope for Allah's mercy to forgive our sins
  • Rasulullah s.a.w always weep, dua for the ummah and is concern for us...

Sahih International: There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful. (Surah At Tawbah)
  • He always wake up to pray for tahjjud just to pray for us and when he prays, he prays until his feet were swollen and when he prays, it is as if he could khatam the whole quran in one prayer ;'(
  • When 'Aisyah R.A was worried that Rasulullah s.a.w kept praying until his feet became swollen and claimed that his sins were already being forgiven by Allah as he is a rasul of Allah, rasulullah s.a.w humbly replied, “Shouldn’t I be a grateful servant [then]?”.
  • We must always make selawat for rasulullah s.a.w, try to be close with the pious and righteous people

  • Ustaz Sofyan Yadi: Youths nowadays are preoccupied and obsessed with materialistic objects
  • We should fill our hearts with Allah and Rasulullah s.a.w, if we doo that, our hearts would not be anxious and worried when we don't receive such worldly items
  • Compare with the children in Palestine, they have nothing but they place their hearts witth Allah hence they can still smile and feel sufficient

  • Ustaz Feisal Hassan: As youths, we must continue to conduct majlis rasulullah s.a.w
  • Such majlis rasulullah s.a.w had been created since generations ago..even during rasulullah s.a.w's time by Zaid ibn Thabit
  • Hence we must continue to ensure that Muslims gather together to keep form the ukhuwwah and bonds
  • So that Allah can forgive our sins and to remember Rasulullah s.a.w
  • Because things change but the only thing that won't change is the love for Allah and his Rasullah s.a.w and such majlis
That is all that I can offer, the ending was brilliant as Syamil concluded the maulid with a beautiful qasidah (:
I just wanna say that for those who have not been to a mulid and would want to do so or they have this urge to go but feel afraid to try somehting new, I really suggest you should give it a try and immerse yoursleves with the love of rasulullah s.a.w, it will  be a sweet experience
I used to not go for such events but when I started going, I felt in love with it over and over again, alhamdulillah

 3) I just cut my freakin long butt-length Rapunzel hair just now..woohooo..My head  is lighter and I feel liberated baybehh!! :P

So what's next?

On Friday I've received my A level results. It was disappointing except for the fact that I have attained an A for econs! It was disappointing that I didn't even became one of the top 50 to score 80 points and above. It was disappointing that for all these while, my history has been getting an A but during A levels, my grades totally depicted otherwise. Well it was an utter dismay to find out that my school's standard has dropped and no one managed to score a maximum points of 90 :( It is more saddening to find out when one of your smart cousins got 9 straight A's and he came out in the news. How do I avoid the comparioson that adults usually do?

So for a few days I was sad and down hearted but then who am I to feel so low when life is only a huge test? Allah, the Malik Al Qudoos, said, "Do men think that they will be left alone on saying "We believe", and that they will not be tested?" "We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false."[29:2-3]. I know that Allah did not answer my prayers because He knows that this dunya is only temporary and He is reserving my dua for the akhirat! (: "When Allah wills good for a servant of His, He hurries up up His punishment in this life." (Tirmidzi). I know Allah knows that this is the best for me, surely there is a hikmah behind this: "Only Allah knows about the unforeseen and what is in the land and sea"[Al An'am: 59]

Oh Allah, I love You so much Al Wadud (': <3

A

I really can't wait for today to be over.
Especially the moment when you step into YJC.
This feeling of relentless anxiety churning away is killing me.
Sigh

29.2.12

D-day

Well that's it, tommorrow's going to be the big day. . RESULTS! After all the hard work and sweat, the results are finally going to be released tommorrow. I feel berserk . .I feel nervous, jittery, butterflies in my stomach, apprehensive, and the emotions can go on and on. I am actually a very anxious and worrisome person. I tend to get worried about things easily but then, I've decided for A levels, i should stop wasting my energy thinking about something in which i have no control of. So I will think of allah, tawakkal and how illogical and ridiculous it is for me to worry over something so trivial when others in Syria, Chechnya, Palestine are worrying and fighting for their lives.

So whatever happens tommorrow, it's all written and fated in Luh Al Mahfuz and only Allah knows what's best for me(: Because Allah states that: "Allah is the Wali (Protector & helper) of the Muttaqun"[45:19]. I am sure Allah will help me and answer my prayers. "so verily, with the hardship, there is relief, verily with the hardship, there is relief"[94:5-6].

Lastly, Munira please tawakkal and whatever the outcome is, just know that it is the BEST for you cause ultimately Allah knows what is best for you when you do not. Put your trust and faith in Him as "He will provide him from sources he could never have imagine. And whoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him."[65:3]
Hasbbi rabbi, jalAllah, mafiiqalbi ghairullah(:

Love

I don't understand teenagers nowadays. They get so upset easily over love and allow themselves to be subjected and succumbed to heartbreaks and heartaches. . all due to the name of LOVE. Ironic isn't it? What is worse, is that some people totally feel upset over the fact that they do not have any boyfriends/ lovers or whatever. Ok, i'm not trying to be mean here, I am just so upset when girls especially put themselves in a position that portray themselves to be hopeless and vulnerable. Come on girls, why do you have to drown yourself in sorrows just because you don't receive any attention or love from boys? Another thing, girls, why do you always have to throw negative remarks to yourselves? Why do you always have to bring yourself down by claiming that you are fat or that your body does not align to the 'ideal' type of  body. You are all so beautiful, do you know that? Do you know your status in Islam is very high? Islam honours and treasure their women so much but it is only depressing when you realise how so many women are not aware of this and tend to discriminate and bring themselves down.

Firstly, I believe that is very shallow and narrow minded for one to relate and define love as having boyfriend/girlfriend- that they can only feel 'loved' when their bfs/ gfs are around. This reflects how illiterate and confined your mind is. Whenever, you think so you are actually ignoring Allah SWT, you are insulting Him ya Allah :( Can you see how he provides for you everything?? Your food, clothes, shelter.

With Allah, in the stars coruscation, the clouds knitting and the moon's light. With Allah, there is the thunder's rumbling, the lightning's flash and the pouring rain as a form of barakah and sustenance for water. With Allah, there is the swashing sea and the magnificent sun proceding to its lodgement as a form of light for all to carry out activities, heat and everything. With Allah, it's level lands, valleys and huge mountains. With Allah, He can hear the ants creepage no matter when and where it passes by and look after them. With Allah, while bees are drinking honey and protecting its picking and its panging, He provides honey as a form of medicine to cure diseases.

With Allah, there is the whole universe and the orbits with the planets rotating at such a beautiful pace. With allah. . there is you and me :'(

How Oh Muslim sisters can you ignore Allah's gifts to us? How so, oh muslim sister can you not return Allah's love when He already showed magnificent signs that He loves you? :'( How so oh muslim sister, can you limit your boundary of love and channel them only to a mere human being? How so Oh Allah, can You be so Patient and how so Oh Al Wadud can you not be angry and punish those who ignore You? How so Oh Rabb can you be so kind and merciful when others ascribe you with partners? Oh Allah, You are so Kind and Loving :( How can you oh muslim sister, ignore Allah when He already states  that He is willing to help You when you are in need?

"Take one step towards me, I will take ten steps towards you. Walk towards me, I will run towards you." [Hadith Qudsi]
"When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close. I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me, That they may walk in the right way." [2:186]

How so oh muslim sister can you deliberately cut off from Allah by refusing to meet Him during salat? He is already patiently waiting for You and you did not bother to thank Him for everything? How so oh sister. . ? :'( :'(

15.2.12

Thank you Allah

I can't believe it.

Alhamdulillah Allah! Thank you so much for guiding me before I go astray :(
Thank you allah. . thank you thank you :'(

Maulid Rasul

Since tmr is 12 Rabiul Awal, it marks the birth of our beloved prophet Muhammad S.A.W. I'm not going to celebrate or anythg since the sahabis didnt do so, I will decide to type out a post based on facts on nabi Muhammad S.A.W! Dear, my Muslim brotheres and sisters, send your salams and salutations to our beloved leader as even Allah, the malaikat and the whole universe praise him(:

O beloved one, O praised-worthy one!

O Full Moon that has achieved all perfection, how can I describe your high status?
You are the one that rose above the high horizon, with your light you erased all falsehood.
O flag of Guidance, because of you the universe is lit up with lights, gifts and favours.
Our Lord, Allah, bestow blessings upon you eternally in the early  morning and evening and upon your family and companions, Allah the Lofty of loftiness, bestowed with perfection.

3.2.12

For you Rasulullah (':

Assalamua'alaikum
Sorry for not being able to blog these days. I do have a lot to say but sometimes, even words cannot describe my emotions. Coupled to that, I am quite busy with work everyday from Mon till Friday hence I feel overfatigue :( Well, alhamdulillah nowadays every Friday, I am able to force myself to attend any syarahan or taklim at any masjid. Normally, I would attend majilis Rasulullah S.A.W. Actually, I really love attending these majlis because you have so many interesting things that you were not aware pf pertaining to Islam! Sometimes, when I go to the masjids, I will see a lot of good muslims and muslimahs who took their time and effort to attend the majilis. Some of them look quite pious and everytime I see them, I will feel kinda sad and inferior. Still, this is a good thing that Allah wants me to see because it actually helps me strive and improve myself to become a better muslimah, insyaaAllah. Furthermore, acquiring the ukhrawi knowledge is also important and there is a hadith saying that: Safwan Ibn ‘Assal said: I came to the Prophet(peace be upon him) while he was reclining on a red coat(in the mosque) & I said to him :”O Messenger of Allah! I came to seek knowledge. He said:”Welcome knowledge seeker! Indeed the angels surround the knowledge seeker with their wings, then pile up on top of each other until they reach the lower heaven out of their love of what he is seeking.”
and there is also another hadith saying that whoever actually strives to seek knowledge, Allah SWT will make his way to paradise easy (Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud). So constantly try to pursue and attain knowledge my fellow friends! :D

Oh, btw just to let you know that there will be maulid Rasulullah S.A.W organise by MHDS at Sultan Mosque tmr! It's at 8am till 12:30 pm. I will be going with Fatin and Shahirah insyaaAllah and after that head to PRAXIS meeting till 6pm. I really cant wait for it! :D
You can join me if you want k! just let me know and I will be happy to have you accompanying me! (:

24.1.12

Rant.

I really dislike it when someone judge me just because I've already started wearing the hijab. Their perception and mindset is certainly flawed and narrow. They think that once someone starts to wear the hijab, she cannot make any mistake at all. Like for instance, I really hate it when someone says. . "Eh aku ingatkan kau dah berubah? Tapi macam sama jer." whenever I make a small joke or when I do something inappropriate which is not even considered a sin. Pshhh, it is annoying. There's a difference between attitude and personality. Personallity is something which defines you- it is what makes you unique from other individuals. You can have a shy personality, outgoing personality blah blah blah whatever, but I just want to say that YES all MUSLIMAHS WHO WEAR THE HIJAB, WE DO HAVE PERSONALITIES. So even if we wear the hijab, you cannot restrict us from being our own individual self. Who are you to tell me how to behave and stuff? Who are you to even deliver such a comment? You don't even know the level of our iman so just shut up.

Stop judging others seriously, it is so annoying and frustrating. Please look at yourself first and judge yourself before telling others, "Oh I thought you've changed, but you are still the same." BS. I have the right and authority to choose what I want to show to you and my Lord. So please mind your own business.

Another thing that seriously hurt me was when you (not the same person) gave the comment "jangan pakai tudung lah". i mean seriously????? Who are you to order me and I was freaking joking. I really thought that you would at least encourage me or give words of wisdom and shit but it turned out otherwise. Do you know how hurt I was? Why not tell me to go eat pork or go take drugs? I don't understand why when I've started to wear the hijab, everyone treats me like as though I am a control freak who can't joke around. I am not a robot mind you, I am just a normal human being who is trying to improve myself for Allah's sake. Stop judging me seriously just stop.

I know this is a trial for me hope Allah gives me strength to go through this. Only allah understands me. sometimes. . you just can't trust anyone in this world. . not even your own family. Ultimately, you are the one who will walk alone and will be answerable for your deeds during akhirat. No one will help you.

3.1.12

Maybe I'm being too quick to judge and not contemplating or pondering over the other things that you have done for us.
I don't know, I'm very sad now. I wish everyone would disappear. . wait, no, I wish I will disappear from this dunya.

You never existed, never.

Despite your physical presence, you never once in my life existed in my heart, I am being honest here. Thank you for persistently breaking our hearts.

"Ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind." Ironically, thanks for leaving us.

I miss Allah, I miss Rasulullah S.A.W, I miss jannah, i miss Makkah, I miss Madinah, I miss Al Aqsa :'(

2.1.12

For Allah only :'(

Today I feel sad.
I am sad everyday.
So why bother.
This dunya sucks. . urghhh when will I reach jannah?
Why do I feel so trap in this world.
Please release me from this cage ya Allah.
Free me from this imprisonment, quickly take me to heaven :'(
Don't make ibu sad ya Allah.
She has suffered enough.
I cant bear to see her tears.
If this is all good for us, then give us strength Oh my Rabb. Only You know what is good for us, I trust you ya Allah. Give me and ibu strength to overcome this ya Allah. Ya Allah the pain is overwhelming ya Allah but I know You are Most Fair- You will reward us with something better right?
Ya Allah the tears I cry are for You, and You only.
Only You are sufficient for me :'(

What has happen to my family?
Hasbunallah wa ni'mal wakil :'(
